Green Task Force

Purpose

The Green Task Force will provide recommendations to the City Commission regarding ways to improve the environmental sustainability of the community; strategies for improving the environmental sustainability of the community; incentives for residents, businesses, and organizations to practice environmental conservation including recycling; proposed means to enhance water and energy conservation; ideas for promotion of tree planting and xeriscaping; and best practices to be considered for implementation in Delray Beach, including long-term strategies.

Meetings

Meetings are held in the conference room at the Environmental Services facility on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month, through August 2008, from 6:00 p.m. through approximately 8:00 p.m.  (Calendar)

Board Membership

The Board is made up of seven members,  each appointed by the City Commission for a term of six months.

Qualifications

All members shall have expertise or an interest in environmental conservation and sustainability and shall be residents of or own property in the City; own a business within the City; or be an officer, director, or manager of a business located within the City.
