The City Attorney serves as the Chief Legal Officer of the City and will represent and defend the City as mandated by the City Commission. The office of the City Attorney will provide legal opinions and advice to the City Commission and City Administration; represent the City in labor and employment law matters; support and advise the Code Enforcement Board, and the Board of Adjustment; advise the Planning and Zoning Board, Board of Construction Appeal, Historic Preservation Board, and others upon request for specific assistance; review, draft and negotiate contracts and agreements between the City and other entities or persons; perform legal research; draft ordinances and resolutions; handle and coordinate litigation involving the City and/or employees and officials when related to their municipal functions. |
