Heartsaver CPR/AED Classes

Groups of residents or business owners within the City of Delray Beach are welcome to contact us to schedule an appointment for the American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR/AED class.  The fee for the class is $45 per student with a minimum of 8 participants ($360).  We will provide classes for less than 8 students as long as the minimum fee requirement has been met ($360).  Please note: Each student over the required amount will be responsible for the $45 per student fee.

Classes are taught from the American Heart Association curriculum.  The class can be held at your location or facilities at The City of Delray Beach Fire-Rescue Headquarters can be arranged.  This class is approximately 3-4 hours in length. 

We are an American Heart Association Site under Palm Beach Community College.  Your Heartsaver CPR/AED card will be sent from PBCC to your home or work.  This process normally takes about one week.

Description: The Heartsaver AED Course teaches the basic techniques of adult and child CPR and use of an AED. Students also learn about using barrier devices in CPR and giving first aid for choking. The course teaches how to recognize the signs of 4 major emergencies: heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest, and foreign-body airway obstruction.
Course Length: 3-4 hours
Cost: $45.00 (Minimum of 8 Participants)
Intended Audience: All lay responders, such as firefighters, police, airline personnel, security guards, employees in the workplace, family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death, other lay rescuers, and those who may have a need to respond to a cardiac emergency.
Card Type: Course Completion
Written Skills/Exam: Required for Course Completion Card (which you will receive by mail approximately one week after taking class)
