Fleet Mechanic
Job Description:

Minimum Hourly: $15.18
Maximum Hourly: $22.42

Perform mechanical and service work on all City vehicles, trucks, and other equipment such as: front ends; four wheel brake job; tire replacement/repair; electrical repair; tune-ups; carburetor/fuel injection repairs; drive train repairs; diesel repairs/minor service. Pick up and deliver vehicles to various vendors. Repair parts on vehicles and equipment.

Qualifications:

Days and hours of work: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

High school graduate or equivalent. At least four year's mechanical experience in automotive/truck repair. Completion of Mechanical School or accredited technical school preferred. Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License, with a good driving record. Must obtain a Class B, CDL, with air brake endorsement within six months of hire. ASE certification in  truck or automotive repair preferred. 

It is the policy of the City of Delray Beach that persons having a CDL and participating in activities regulated by DOT are subject to drug testing and alcohol testing. The Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991 requires alcohol and drug testing of safety-sensitive employees in aviation, motor carriers, railroad, and mass transit industries. Provisions of this policy are based upon said Act and the relevant federal regulations applicable to the Act. As a condition of employment, The City of Delray Beach reserves the right to require all employees having a CDL and performing safety-sensitive activities regulated by DOT, to submit at any time to drug and/or alcohol testing to determine the presence of prohibited substances.
