Review and comment on construction plans and applications for routine projects, except one and two family dwellings for compliance with fire and life safety code requirements.
Prepare comments identifying code deficiencies.
Calculate all required building permit and related development fees.
Attend meetings with staff, engineers, architects, and contractors, for technical assistance and resolutions to various problems.
Maintain proficiency with code changes and ordinances. Prepare comments identifying code deficiencies.
Operate computer.
Provide technical information to the general public for questions relating to building code requirements.
May review fire protection systems design documents for applicable code compliance.
May perform site inspections to confirm construction compliance with approved plans.
Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent. Municipal Fire Safety Inspector Certificate or be able to obtain certification within one year of employment. Applicants should have a comprehensive background in concepts of fire and life safety, as well as a basic understanding of fire suppression and detection systems.Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License.
