Why do I have to pay a monthly fee even though my service has been suspended while I am out of town?
Base charges are required in order to maintain water/sewer operations year round, read the meters, mail the bills and provide on-going services to the citizens of Delray Beach.
Without these base charges, rates would have to be higher to provide funding for year round operations for water and waste water treatment.
City ordinance requires that active accounts be maintained for all residential or commercial properties located within the City limits.
