The Fire-Rescue Department is responsible for responding to all fire, medical, hazardous materials, and technical rescue calls within the City of Delray Beach, as well Gulf Stream and Highland Beach.  This is accomplished by training Firefighter/Paramedics to be ready for any situations that may place residents and visitors in harm’s way.

The men and women of Delray Beach Fire-Rescue are dually trained as Firefighters and Paramedics, and the department’s services include Special Operations, including Dive Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, High Angle Rescue, Heavy Extrication, and Technical Rescue responses.  Services also include Fire Safety Education, Plan Review, and Code Enforcement by the Fire and Life Safety Division.

The department operates in five divisions: Operations, Training, EMS, Fire and Life Safety, and Administration.
