Assistant Chief Heysler joined the Delray Beach Police Department in October of 1986. She has held positions in the Patrol Division as an officer and in the Investigative Division as a detective. Assistant Chief Heysler served as a Patrol Sergeant before being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. As a lieutenant, she held the position of Watch Commander in the Patrol Division, Lieutenant in charge of the Detective Bureau and Unit Commander (Lieutenant) over the Vice, Intelligence and Narcotics Unit. Once promoted to Captain, she was assigned as Commander of the Community Response Division. Assistant Chief Heysler was promoted to Assistant Chief in 2012.
Assistant Chief Heysler earned a Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Tampa, Tampa, Florida and a Masters Degree in Sports Medicine from the U.S. Sports Academy in Mobile, Alabama. Assistant Chief Heysler is a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police and the Southern Police Institute through Broward Community College and the University of Louisville. She has completed over 2,000 hours of specialized law enforcement and management training.
Assistant Chief Heysler's professional affiliations include the National Association for Female Executives, The Palm Beach County Police Chiefs Association and has been nominated to be a member of the Florida Police Chiefs Association. She has coached for the Wellington Wild and North Palm Beach Renegades Fast pitch softball organizations.
