Find Your Flood 
The FEMA Flood Map Service Center (MSC) is the official public source for flood hazard information produced in support of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Use the MSC to find your official flood map, access a range of other flood hazard products, and take advantage of tools for better understanding flood risk. Purchase a Flood Insurance Policy Today!

The City of Delray Beach is a participant in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), a federal program administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that allows property owners and renters to purchase flood insurance for their building and/or its contents.  There is usually a 30-day waiting period for flood insurance to take effect. Call your insurance agent today or go to www.FloodSmart.gov, or call 1-888-379-9531 to find an agent and to find out more about protecting your property from rising waters.  You should consider the purchase of flood insurance whether your property is in a Special Flood Hazard Area or not.

In the event of an oncoming storm or flood emergency, the city’s radio station, 1620 AM will provide up-to-date information pertaining specifically to Delray Beach.  You should also monitor the Weather Channel and local television channels and have a NOAA weather radio on-hand with extra batteries.  You can follow the city’s social media platforms for updates:

Stormwater Drainage Maintenance

Our goals is to protect citizens and the environment by improving water quality and minimizing street flooding.  Services provided include annual cleaning of the City’s drainage system.  Whether a hazardous spill or an illicit dumping is an accident or intentional, it is the responsibility of all of us to respond swiftly to protect the environment that surrounds our beautiful city, and all we need to do is pick up the phone!  It is illegal to dump anything into the City’s drainage system.  If you witness such illegal behavior, please call the Code Enforcement Department at (561) 243-7219 immediately.
